KIK Messenger?

A while ago, I used Kik messenger for a short period of time on iOS, and it worked well with VoiceOver. I tried again today after at least a year of not using the app, and it appears to be a lot less accessible now. I can't read the contents of chats. Does anyone use this? Probably not LOL. But if so, any workarounds? Thanks.
